Actually listening to the record this time round. Pretty apt given media overkill of Mr. Jackson's demise. Even Radio Four spent 20 minutes of 30 minute World at One rehearsing his exit from this mortal coil.

If everybody wanted to be Michael Jackson then.... what happens now?

Haven't got an -ism but have an -ity. "Hypertextuality" or "hypotextuality"

Follows from "intertextuality" which was invented by my (one of my) heroine(s) the absolutely fab/ gorgeous Julia Kristeva http://www.kristeva.fr/photos.html

To make it sound more Situationist, for "hypertextuality" read "surtextualite".

a. A text that takes another text (the hypotext) and transmutes it in some way, but without simply being a commentary on the original
b. Parody, adaptation, translation, pastiche, imitation etc.
c. Because of the rise of computer hypertext, some critics are now referring to this as hypotextuality to differentiate between the two.
d. Example of hypertextuality - recyling Shakespear's Tempest as s.f movie The Forbidden Planet.

I am now wired up for sensuround sound - been listening to Blood and Roses and KLF videos. Love the one with Tammy Wynette. That's KLF, not the rare recording of Tammy performing Blood and Roses greatest hits.

Where abouts in Scotland is Alan building boats?

Funny you should say that.....was involved setting up pirate radio in bristol 1990s,got voice printed and hunted down by DTI (who manage these things) and only got away with it cos the others caught very decently convinced "the man" that I was this mentally deficient kid they let hang around who fantasized about being in charge of it all.Very handy.
They didnt take much convincing tho'........

Concerning the boat angle,Alan, one of the Wood Green Arts Center squatters just got in touch,he's back in scotland building boats

DIYFSism. If I move my cutting edge piece of late eighties technology -a music centre with built in cd player (broken) - over to the computer I can use it as an amplifier and play the music through my vintage surround sound system, which includes a pair of big home made speakers I have had since Grosvenor Avenue days + two Wharfedale speakers that came with a Pioneer amplifier the size and weight of a breeze block I got given when my neighbour died.

If I can re-assemble the spaghetti of wires, it plays loud with a heavy heavy solid sound.

Then I can really wind up the youth of today by tuning into Radio Puppy all day long...

Hey - anyone got a boat? We could set up our own pirate radio station, beaming waves from the sea...
