Absolutely fucking CLASSIC record (‘Slogun’ in particular)

Incidentally, that image of the chair posted above (which I first saw illustrating the SPK chapter in the Research ‘Industrial Culture Handbook’) now reminds me a bit of this incredible & singularly unsettling art installation which I saw at the Edinburgh Fruitmarket gallery a couple of summers ago, and bought the book+dvd of only last Friday.

I really want to see the SPK dvd that came out a couple of years ago with the ‘enhanced’ Autopsy film. Funny to think that along with Animal Farm that was such a widely viewed and disseminated underground film at the time. Anybody got it? The SPK dvd that is

Hard to believe that was just over twenty six years ago! Just wanted to add a couple of things:

Semi the singer left that line-up to be replaced by Andy Turner late of the Xpozez. Shortly after that Tab the bass player and Hammy the drummer also packed it in. This left me – Mooney the guitarist – as the only survivor from our formation at Thornhill High School. Trimble (also late of the Xpozez) came in on bass and Cuzzy (ex All Over The Carpet and more recently the Sex Pistols drum tech) was our new drummer. I stuck it out until the early 90s.

Great times.

And I’m sure we played Amarillo, Texas in 1985 Convertido. Mind you, it’s a big place.

Yeah, I’ve often wondered who the other auditioners were. A couple of them are actually quite decent! (which is more than can be said for Ten Pole Tudor’s horrible squawking).

Fantastic — remembering a time when most punk rockers were definitely Motorhead fans. Modern day listeners of the band often seem surprised when I and other mates from the 77 — 80 period, emphasise the major effect Motorhead had on the evolution and vibe of punk rock.

Sorry, I should have said apart from Eddie Temple. Yea, I haven’t a clue who any of the others were either. Just wondered if anyone had any info.

Cheers for the screenplay link. My mate used to do a Pistols fanzine at school and he’ll be made up to see that, if he hasn’t already.
